Junaid Zaheer, Senior Vice President of Operations, joined Sun Capital in 2024. Junaid has over 17 years of experience in the industry, management consulting and private equity, specializing in strategy, growth and transformation.

Prior to joining Sun Capital, Junaid was an Operating Principal at a lower middle market PE firm, Access Holdings. As a member of the Portfolio Operations team, Junaid supported the firm’s thesis development, origination, execution, and portfolio management activities. He also led Access’ efforts to build and deploy commercial and operational excellence best practices across the portfolio companies. Prior to Access Holdings, Junaid served as an Operating Executive and Head of Transformation at Tegna where he led and drove both top line and bottom line value creation initiatives. Prior to Tegna, Junaid was a management consultant at Kearney where he led large strategy and cost transformation projects across industries.

Junaid began his career in product development and engineering after undergraduate in Electrical Engineering at Michigan State University. He holds an MBA from Carnegie Mellon University Tepper School of Business and a Masters in Engineering Management from University of Maryland, Baltimore County.
