BOCA RATON, FL Sun Capital Partners today announced that its affiliate Kellwood Company, a leading designer, manufacturer and marketer of premier fashion brands, has acquired ADAM, a high–end contemporary clothing business with wholesale, retail and e–Commerce outlets. ADAM retail locations include New York City, Buffalo, N.Y., and Bryn Mawr, Pa. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Founded in 2004 by Adam Lippes, former worldwide creative director of Oscar de la Renta, ADAM manufactures and sells contemporary sportswear lines for men and women at luxury retailers such as Bergdorf Goodman, Neiman Marcus and Harrod’s, at ADAM retail stores, and through ShopADAM.com. ADAM produces a year–round Basics line and seasonal offerings (Spring, Summer, Fall, Holiday and Resort). The retail locations will continue to operate, and Lippes will remain with ADAM.
